Sannidhanam: Special Pass for Devotees Traveling via Forest
Path Temporarily Discontinued
The special pass given to devotees traveling to Sannidhanam
via the forest path has been temporarily stopped. The Devaswom Board announced
this decision due to the large number of Ayyappa devotees using the forest
route. While only 5,000 devotees were allowed to travel this way, on Monday
alone, 22,000 devotees reached Sannidhanam through the forest path.

The special pass system was introduced on December 17 to help devotees who take the difficult forest route, to have a smoother darshan experience. The pass allowed them to skip the regular queues and use a special line for darshan. This was a much-awaited move to help ease the pilgrimage experience for those traveling through the forest.
However, due to the unexpected surge in the number of
devotees, the Devaswom Board decided to pause the special pass system to manage
the crowd better.
