Makaravilakku 2025: Police Ensure Smooth and Safe Darshan for Devotees
Comprehensive Security Measures in Place for Sabarimala Makaravilakku Festival
State Police Chief S. Darvesh Sahib has announced that all security arrangements for the Sabarimala Makaravilakku festival have been completed. Special emphasis will be given to ensuring enhanced security at locations where devotees gather to witness the Makarajyothi. Unauthorized viewing points will not be permitted, he stated.
The Director General of Police (DGP) reviewed the arrangements at Sannidhanam and Pampa, emphasizing a foolproof security system. On the day of Makaravilakku, 1,800 police personnel will be deployed at Sannidhanam, 800 at Pampa, and 700 at Nilakkal. Security arrangements are also in place in nearby districts, with 650 personnel assigned in Kottayam and 1,050 in Idukki.
The security operations will be led by senior officials, including ADGP S. Sreejith at Sannidhanam, Range IG Shyam Sundar at Pampa, and IG Ajitha Beegam at Nilakkal.
The police aim to ensure a smooth and pleasant experience for devotees during the festival. Timely interventions by the High Court have facilitated effective measures. The DGP assured that the police are prepared to handle the crowd regardless of how many devotees come for makara jyothi, and confirmed that there will be no special passes required for the Erumeli route this year DGP Said.
