Sabarimala Record hit Pilgrims, Revenue Surges by ₹82 Crore During Mandala Mahotsavam


Pathanamthitta, Kerala:
The sacred hill shrine of Sabarimala saw an exceptional turnout during the 41-day Mandala Mahotsavam, with a total of 32,49,756 (32.50 lakh) pilgrims visiting the temple. This represents an increase of 4,07,309 (4.07 lakh) devotees compared to the 28,42,447 (28.42 lakh) pilgrims who participated during the same period last year, as reported by Travancore Devaswom Board President, PS Prashanth.


Prashanth also highlighted the growing usage of Spot booking, with 5,66,571 (5.66 lakh) devotees using this system to reach the Sannidhanam, a significant rise from the 4,02,269 (4.02 lakh) devotees who opted for spot booking last year. Additionally, 74,774 pilgrims accessed the temple via the Pulmedu route, an increase from 69,250 devotees in the previous year.


Revenue Sees Significant Growth

PS Prashanth also reported that, during the first phase of the two-month-long 2024-25 pilgrimage season, between November 15 and December 26, the temple earned ₹297 crore. This is a notable increase from the ₹215 crore generated in the same period last year.


Revenue Breakdown:

  • Aravana Sales: ₹124.02 crores, up by ₹22.07 crores from ₹101.96 crores last year.
  • Kanikka (Offerings): ₹80.26 crores, an increase of ₹13.28 crores compared to ₹66.97 crores last year.
