79 Roads, 386 km: Kerala Begins Repairing Roads Under Sabarimala Package
The Public Works Department in Kerala has approved ₹356.97 crore to repair and renovate 79 roads, totaling 386 km, under the Sabarimala package. The work will start soon after tendering, focusing on improving road quality for pilgrims and Locals.
This initiative is crucial for the upcoming Sabarimala pilgrimage season, ensuring safer and smoother travel. It addresses past road condition issues, with funds split into ₹326.97 crore for 67 roads and ₹30 crore for 12 roads.

Technical Standards:
Roads will be renovated using BMBC (Bituminous Macadam and Bituminous Concrete) standards and BC overlay for durability.
The fund for the renovation and repair of these roads has been issued as part of improving the quality of roads in Kerala, said Public Works Minister P.A. Mohamed Riyas. The work on these roads will be started at the earliest after completing the tendering procedures, he said.
