Grand Celebrations of Arya Keralan’s Birthday at Pandalam – February 15, 2025




The auspicious birthday celebrations of Arya Kerala Varman (Bhagawan Ayyappa) will be observed on February 15, 2025, at Pandalam.  



Pandalam Valiyakoikal Sri Dharma Sastha is a historically significant and ancient temple, Located near the sacred Achankovil River in Pandalam, this temple is revered as the birthplace of Sabarimala Sri Dharmashasta. The divine presence of  Shasta Chaitanyam, the Thevaramurti of the Pandalam royal family, is enshrined in the sacred Salagrama at this holy site.  


As the origin of Sabarimala, this temple holds great spiritual significance. Every year, ritualistic pujas and grand festival celebrations take place on the Uthram day of the Kumbha month, marking the birthday of AYYAPPA SWAMY Janmotsavam.  



Devotees from across the country are invited to participate in the Uthram Mahotsavam, where they can witness the divine presence of Lord Ayyappa, adorned with the sacred Thiruvabharanam. This sacred occasion offers an opportunity to take part in ritualistic pujas and seek blessings of Ayyappa.

Grand Festival Celebrations at Valiyakoikal Sri Dharma Sastha Temple




The annual festival at Valiyakoikal Sri Dharma Sastha Temple promises a spiritually enriching and culturally vibrant experience. The day-long festivities will include a series of rituals, musical performances, and traditional ceremonies conducted . Special Poojas under the auspices of renowned Tantri, Kuzhikkattillathu Brahmashri Agnisharma Vasudevan Bhattarhiripad.





Event Schedule:

  • 4:00 AMPalliyunarthal (Ritual awakening of the deity)

  • 5:00 AMManimuthal: Nadathurkkal, Nirmalyadarshanam, Astabhishekam, Pathivupujakal

  • 5:30 AMGanapathi Homam (Sacred fire ritual dedicated to Lord Ganesha)

  • 6:30 AM – The sacred Thiruvabharanam (divine ornaments) will be brought from Shramipikal Palace to Valiyakoikal Sri Dharma Sastha Temple. Devotees will have the opportunity for darshan once the deity is adorned.

  • 9:00 AM OnwardsNadaswara Consort featuring traditional classical instrumental music

  • 11:00 AMUchapaatt Kalamezhuthu Pattu (ritualistic floor art and devotional singing)

  • 11:30 AMUnniyootu (offering food to young children as a sacred ritual)




Evening Festivities & Cultural Programs:

  • 7:30 PMAnnadanam (mass food offering for devotees)

  • 8:00 PMAthazha Pooja (night pooja)

  • Various traditional dance and music performances will be held throughout the festival.

  • 9:00 PMEzhunnallathu ceremonial procession led by Mahesh P.G., the Punnamootil family, and the Perunad Sabarimala Vettakurup.
  • Naayaattuvili (Hunter Calls) – A traditional ritual 
  • Concluding ceremonies include Prasadavitharanam (distribution of sacred offerings), Harivarasanam chant, and Thiruchezhunnallathu procession.
