Decision Made to Consecrate Vapura Swami at Erumeli

A significant decision has been made through the traditional astrological ritual Ashtamangala Devaprasnam, held near the Puthanveedu in Erumeli, where Lord Ayyappa’s sacred sword is preserved. According to the Devaprasnam led by renowned astrologer Padmanabha Sharma of Irinjalakuda, it has been advised that Vapura Swami be consecrated at the Ayyappan Kavu near the Puthan Kavu—an important location associated with the Sabarimala pilgrimage.

The main astrologer emphasized that Vapura Swami, a prominent attendant deity of Lord Manikandan, should be worshipped in a newly constructed temple at this sacred site.

Several eminent astrologers participated in the ritual, including Mullappally Narayanan Namboothiri, Trikunnapuzha Udayakumar, Mattam Jayakrishnan, Areekulangara Suresh Panicker, Puthuvamana Hari Namboothiri, Srinath Vadakara, Devadas Kannur, Mohan K. Vedkumar, Venugopal Malal, Krishnamenon, Ramavarma, Mannur Vishwanatha Panicker, and Balasubrahmanyam.

This marks a new chapter in the spiritual journey of Erumeli, further enriching the legacy of the Sabarimala tradition.
