Demise of Thiruvonam Nal Amba Thampuratti of Pandalam Royal Family
Pandalam: Thiruvonam Nal Amba Thampuratti, a respected member of the Pandalam royal family, passed away today(06-04-2025 and According to the Malayalam calendar, it is 23rd Meenam, 1200 Kollavarsham) at 2:30 PM at the age of 87. She was the daughter of Pooyam Nal Mangala Thampuratti of the Pandalam Kaippuzha Lakshmivilasam Palace and Devadathan Namboothiri of the Kummanam Karuvelil Illam.
Her husband, the late Muraleedhara Raja of Chiralayam Palace, Kunnamkulam, had preceded her in death. She is survived by her sons Rajesh Varma (Retired, State Bank of India), Ramesh Varma (Joint Secretary, Pandalam Palace Managing Committee), and Brijesh Varma (Chennai), along with daughters-in-law Sreekala (South Indian Bank), Sreeja (Navodaya School, Neriyamangalam), and Surabhi.
The funeral will be held tomorrow at 11:30 AM at the Shanthighat, Paramekkavu, Thrissur.
Due to the demise of Thiruvonam Nal Amba Thampuratti, a member of the Pandalam royal family, the Pandalam Valiya Koyikkal Sree Dharmasastha Temple will remain closed until April 16, 2025, as a mark of respect. The temple will reopen on the morning of April 17, 2025, after purification rituals.
