Sabarimala Begins Ayyappa Gold Locket Distribution on Vishu

Sabarimala, April 14, 2025 — Marking the occasion of Vishu, Sabarimala temple launched the distribution of gold lockets featuring the image of Lord Ayyappa. Kerala Devaswom Minister V N Vasavan opened the ceremony at the temple’s flagpole, drawing attention to this significant event for visitors and collectors alike.
The lockets, previously sanctified at the temple, are available for those who pre-ordered through sabarimalaonline.org. They can be picked up at the Sannidhanam administrative office after final payment, with a ₹2,000 deposit required during booking.
Available in three Weights, the lockets are priced as follows:
2 grams: ₹19,300
4 grams: ₹38,600
8 grams : ₹77,200
A fixed booking amount of ₹2,000 is required at the time of reservation.
At present, two authorised jewellery agencies are manufacturing the lockets using gold sourced from two selected jewellers. However, the Travancore Devaswom Board has plans to produce the lockets independently in the future. Board President PS Prashanth stated that the lockets may eventually be made using gold donated by devotees, subject to court approval.
