Sabarimala Temple to Close Tonight After 18-Day Pilgrimage Season; Know More
Pathanamthitta: The Sabarimala temple will close tonight at 10 PM, marking the end of the 18-day pilgrimage season held for the Thiruvutsavam, Vishu, and Meda Pooja festivals. The ceremonial closing will be performed with the recitation of Harivarasanam.
On the yesterday, a total of 40,963 devotees visited the temple. Altogether, more than 300,000 devotees had darshan during this special season.
This year, the temple opened on April 1. The Sabarimala Annual festival (Utsavam) began with the flag-hoisting ceremony on April 2. As the festival concluded, the Vishu celebrations began, extending the darshan period for a total of 18 days. The temple was specially opened again on April 12 for the Vishu celebrations and Monthly Pooja's.
Meanwhile, the foundation stone for a new Bhasmakulam (holy ash pond) will be laid today at Sannidhanam. The inauguration will be jointly conducted at 8:30 AM by Travancore Devaswom Board President P.S. Prashanth and the Tantri, Kandararu Rajeevaru. The new pond will be constructed while preserving the existing Bhasmakulam.

Tamil actors Karthi and Ravi Mohan Took Darshan of Ayyan after reaching Sabarimala. The duo reached the shrine while Harivarasanam. After visiting the Chottanikkara Bhagavathy temple, the duo started their journey to Sabarimala.
